KISS is a manually operated closed circuit diving rebreather. This device is a long-lasting machine, which has been designed for both entertainment and scientific diving.
There are a number of fanatics who dive using this brand, and their diving satisfaction has brought KISS into the mainstream. It is especially popular among technical, deep and cave-diving enthusiasts.
The KISS Rebreather unit is fully closed and uses a fresh, metered orifice and a first-stage regulator to bring in oxygen at a specific rate that suits the estimated metabolic rate of the diver. By using an override injection control, the diver can manually adjust any differences on a dive.
Poseidon is world’s first recreational rebreather for divers. The Poseidon MKVI is an entirely closed and ¬automated unit that will make you see diving in a different light.
The recreational unit is specially designed for divers who do not want to be technically challenged. It is easy to use and it is designed to assist the divers in the easiest possible ways.
The BOV is very simple to operate. There is only one receiver to stare at and nothing needs to be programmed; no set spots are inputted by the diver.
It is an ideal unit for a 40m max depth. No recreational diver wants to spend lots of time worrying about the arrangement and setting up of their photographic master piece while worrying about how to operate the rebreather unit.

The traditional weight is 59 lb (26.7 kg) and sizes are 21 in x 14 in x 8 in. It has a buffered manual control system to add oxygen.
The oxygen is added in two ways: continuous flow and manually. The Explorer oxygen monitoring consists of three autonomous backlit PPO2 displays. Each display has its own lodging, battery and sensor, which make the system completely redundant.
The Explorer scrubber canister has an axial flow design. It is a robust, easy to fill canister that contains around 6 pounds of absorbent.
The gas flows down the center of the scrubber cylinder and then comes up through the scrubber objects, where the carbon dioxide is scrubbed out.
The structure of Poseidon contains a breathing loop such as mouthpiece, hoses, counter lungs and backpack with associated electronics module and two autonomous gas cylinders.
One cylinder contains 100% compressed oxygen and the second cylinder usually contains compressed air “diluents” to balance for compression. This device has also a back¬up system to contain enough breathable gas to allow the diver to float up in case of an emergency.
The Poseidon Rebreathers have two immense advantages – they can triple actual dive time and are far less disturbing to marine life as compared to open circuit rebreathers. Poseidon’s recreational unit has four additional advantages: they are safer and easier to use, lighter and smaller, require no decompression stops and also warm breathing gas.
It is quite difficult to recommend one rebreather between these two rebreathers, because both of them have particular features that they offer to different kinds of divers.
But I would like to say one thing very clearly: most technical divers will prefer KISS brand for diving, while Poseidon models are better for recreational drivers.
The KISS Rebreather is the best choice for technical divers. Their philosophy is to keep it super simple. The CCR is controlled manually by the diver. Oxygen control on this product is best explained as manually controlled with backup protections.
On the other hand, Poseidon has adopted a very different approach to build a very different models. The Poseidon is better for recreational divers.
They did not want to build a rebreather that would demand technical knowledge, but instead they wanted to build it that appealed to recreational divers who just want to get into the water and enjoy a safe and enjoyable experience.
