This is another article in our series of guest posts from readers that are writing about their experiences with a particular supplement. Caroline has written a review for NLA Shred Her fat burner supplement.
NLA For Her makes a line of supplements that are all aimed specifically for women. I wanted to try some of these out and see how they stack up against other products on the market. I started with their supplement: Shred Her.
I took it for 3 weeks and my review is overall pretty positive. I had good results, dropping about 4 pounds. I didn’t get a jittery messed up feeling from Shred Her and I felt good overall.
Sometimes the “for women” products are disappointing. They just take the men’s supplement and add sugar and draw a bow on the packaging.
But other times we get a genuinely good product that actually works well for women. In my opinion, that’s what Shred Her is.
I’ve set out my experiences below. If you have any questions, I can answer them in the comments.
How Well Does Shred Her Work:
Shred Her’s marketing materials say that it promotes thermogenesis, increases your energy and controls hunger. This all has the goal of cutting fat.
It uses a wide range of ingredients that are common to supplements. Some of those ingredients are:
- Caffeine: a very common stimulant that is used to cause thermogenesis and help speed up the weight losing.
- Green Tea Extract: a popular ingredient that fights free radicals and helps with thermogenesis
- Raspberry Ketones: Helps increase the metabolism and promotes fat burning.
So as you can see, these are ingredients that are familiar to anyone that has tried to use supplements to burn fat.
As mentioned above, I took it for 3 weeks and dropped about 4 pounds. I was working out the whole time and eating well, but I felt that this gave me an extra push in terms of weight loss.
So are you going to drop 20 pounds in 2 weeks on it? Probably not. As with any fat burner supplement, it’s not a magic pill and you’ve still got to work out. But 4 pounds was better than expected for me since I didn’t have a ton to lose.
What I noticed most about this supplement is that it gives you a lot of energy. You felt like you always had that energy to do a workout and stay focused. That’s almost more valuable than the weight loss effects.
In terms of being an appetite suppressant, I didn’t personally notice this a lot. I definitely wasn’t craving food all the time, but I wouldn’t say that it was a huge appetite suppressant in my experience.
I did some searching online and found a few people talking about side effects like upset stomach. But I didn’t experience that myself. As always, these things will have different effects on different people.
Overall, I think it works pretty well.
Does Shred Her Give you the Jitters?
I didn’t experience any of the jitters that you get on some other fat burners that are laced with stimulants.
You got a good burst of energy with no crash at the end. You felt pretty even with no extreme high and lows of energy. Overall, the jittery feeling was not an issue for me on this product.
If you’re someone that doesn’t like the feel of stimulant based fat burners, then you should be aware that this does contain caffeine, which can obviously be a big cause of that.
What is the Price of Shred Her?
The price is pretty competitive with other thermogenic fat burners. At the time of writing, you could get 60 capsules for $28. Since the directions are to take 2 a day, this will last you a month. This puts it at just under a dollar a day – pretty reasonable in my opinion.
You can definitely find some products for cheaper (and some for more expensive), but I don’t think the price is anything too crazy.
If you’re new to fat burners, it’s not a bad idea to start at a lower dose and work your way up to the recommended dose. So it might even last for longer than a month.
Conclusion:
In conclusion, I was very pleased with the results. It didn’t give me the jitters and was able to help me cut some fat.
I’d recommend it to anyone that is looking to burn a few extra pounds. But as has been said, it’s not a magic pill and you’ll have to work out if you want to really stimulate a large degree of weight loss.
As has been said in other articles, you always want to be careful when starting a new supplement, especially a thermogenic. They can have side effects for people, so keep an eye on things when starting out and talk to a doctor beforehand.
